Fireproof Racing Suits
A race suit, whether for a trackday or karting beginner or experienced race driver is a crucial piece of safety equipment, with so many options available at various price points it can be difficult to find a great race suit. It's important to remember why a good race suit is important too, not only does a good suit help to protect from fire, but they also make extraction easier in an emergency.
I've picked out some of my favourite fireproof race suits to give you a flavour of what you can get for your money. While safety is always a primary concern on the track, other factors like keeping cool and comfortable when racing can have a real impact on your performance as a driver.
OMP First Elle Race Suit
The FIA 8856-2018 approved OMP First Elle Race Suit is the latest iteration of the OMP's race suit with female trackday drivers in mind, prodviding a more comfortable fit than other male race suits.
The First Elle trackday race suit is a 2 layer nomex suit with wieght reduced by 16% in tis version. This is not the only female specific suit on the market, but it's a great option for female drivers who are starting out. More details »
Sparco "Custom Easy" Sprint Custom Design Race Suit
The Sparco "Custom Easy" race suit is a well priced fully customisable race suit ideal for trackday or karting drivers who are in need of an affordable, bespoke race suit. The Sparco "Custom Easy" offers loads of flexibility on colours, panel options and more besides meaning it can truest reflect your style and racing livery.

Alpinestars GP Tech V3 Race Suit
A level up from the other race suits here, the Alpinestars GP Tech V3 Race Suit carries a higher price tag but it's a 3 layer FIA 8856-2018 approved with improved heat and flame resistance, enhanced mobility with fully floating arms and more to boot.
